Dears, I downloaded the last pure version of Windows 10 Enterprise, but after installation I found that the Windows version name changed from Windows 10 Enterprise to Windows 10 Enterprise Evaluation. The problem is: when I go to windows setting, it shows that windows is activated BUT on the bottom right corner above the clock says: Windows 10 Enterprise Evaluation Windows License valid for 90 days Build What does than mean?
How can I get rid of that? Thank you,. I have the same question Report abuse. Details required :. Cancel Submit. I hope that my description of this issue has been thorough enough to facilitate some support from Microsoft engineers capable of addressing this problem.
I'd like to emphasize that I am trying to evaluate software for use in my company, and that said evaluation is not functional ; I am reasonably confident this problem is through no fault of my own, and is an issue entirely contained on Microsoft's activation servers.
I encourage you to try and reproduce my issue by installing Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC Evaluation as outlined above, and that should further clarify that this is not a self-contained incident. Thank you for taking the time to read over my current issue. I look forward to hearing back from Microsoft engineers as well as community members.
This is a quick note to let you know that I am currently performing research on this issue and will get back to you as soon as possible. I appreciate your patience.
If you have any updates during this process, please feel free to let me know. Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help. For more information, please refer to the sticky post. Thank you for the note, Farena : I look forward to hearing what you are able to find! Thanks for what you have done for this case. Due to limit condition, so far there is no way to reproduce your scenario to reproduce the failure. I have attempted to reinstall it multiple times since that first install, and all attempts have yielded the same problematic result.
Also, a friend of mine followed the same procedure on their own hardware, and the first time they installed Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC Evaluation they too were greeted with the text "Windows license has expired" on their desktop. It is worth noting, however, that my friend did not check everything that I have, such as with slmgr or waiting to see if the system shut down after an hour but I have no reason to believe it would behave any different, given the expiration notice on the desktop.
It is additionally worth noting that I have also tried installing Windows 10 Enterprise non-LTSC Evaluation multiple times, and that it successfully initialized the evaluation every time, not just on the first install.
In regards to your comment on reproducing the failure, would you be able to describe what your limitations are? I will watching closely to this issue, If there is any related update, I will let you know.
You can use the Feedback Hub app to share your problem. I want to thank you for your useful feedback and patience along the way. What is the download location for the ISO that you used? Sometimes there are multiple locations and one could be corrupted so I would like to know where you downloaded it from.
Where did you get the product key or was it the one embedded in the ISO? A blocked product key should not expire evaluation period, a blocked product would be a separate issue, this was working when my contacts tested so thus the questions about the product key above. The evaluation timers are not tied to the product key activation. Once the system is expired, if I recall the rearm should no longer work so that is expected behavior, at least on client.
I would have asked to check the certificates had not expired on the system, but since I had people install this at Microsoft successfully I don't think that is the issue. However it is equally concerning, as I have been able to reproduce this issue on my end countless times, as well as a friend being able to reproduce it on their own hardware. The final digits of the product key are: 6JHWR.
This is the product key embedded in the evaluation ISO. Up to this point I have only tried using Rufus. The operating system will shutdown every hour. I did not see anything referencing "license" or "expired" in the System Logs; mostly automatic driver installations and Windows updates.
Let me know if you would like a dump of all System Logs and 60 Application Logs to look through them yourself. In regards to those who have been able to successfully run the evaluation, I'd be curious to know if there are any other differences in their setup process.
There isn't much variability available in the installation process, but I set all the settings in the privacy menu to their "off" state, I decline Activity History, and I choose not to sign in with a Microsoft account "Domain join instead". My language is English US , as is my keyboard layout. Did you read the Preinstall Information? I was looking for the entire System and application event logs, preferable somewhere I could download them.
I forgot to mention that I think they disabled phone support for the evaluation version which is why that did not work. KMS is not used by the Enterprise Eval version or any Eval editions, so it doesn't matter whether one is available or not. I have the same problem, as you. When I heard about expired license for Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC Evaluation for the first time [1], when system on my virtual machine was activated in January I don't remember, what exactly the day was , I tried to reset license by command "slmgr -rearm", and see if I get the information about license expiration.
I tried troubleshooting and activating by command "slmgr -ato". These procedures returned error code " 0xCC ", which means that product key is blocked. Activation by phone didn't work too. Reinstalling system several times didn't work either. Then I got an idea. And I was surprised. This always happens prior to joining any domain. I simply select the option "Domain join instead" during installation in order to create a local account. See my next reply below for more information. Yes, I did read the Preinstall Information - my apologies for not addressing this in my initial post.
Use another email address or set up Windows with a local account. Clicking "set up Windows with a local account" then takes you to the "Domain join instead" page. I then complete the installation using a local account. I too was concerned that this may have been a problem, seeing as it is stated clearly in the Preinstall Information.
However, when I tried installing Windows 10 Enterprise non-LTSC Evaluation and followed the same procedure, I was able to set up a local account multiple times with no issue. It is for this reason that I suspect the Microsoft account step is a strong suggestion rather than a hard requirement. Thanks for the input.
My account is new and so I'm not able to include hyperlinks, but I have been providing the addresses to websites I reference at the bottom of each of my posts, beneath my signature.
For convenience, I'll repost that link here:. Here's the screenshot [1]. I have English US version. That's very interesting And yes, I typically install it using the English US version. Are we downloading it from the same place?
Here, I will outline the very specific steps I use to install this evaluation below, as well as link to a gallery of images of my installation process. The image numbers in brackets [00] correspond to the numbers listed with the steps described below.
On an already working Windows system, do the following:. The name of this file being downloaded is: My drive is 32 GB. Of course, formatting will delete all data on the drive. This should open up the new "drive" in File Explorer.
I'm calling mine LTSC. This install is just for testing. It doesn't always happen immediately, but I chose for this PC not to be discoverable. I think that N version was removed in your build or even in earlier builds, I don't know. So, this is your ISO number: And mine: You can try it out if you want. And yes, links still work ;. Wow, thank you for this information Ericsson!! I just tried it out and you are correct!
